In addition to loads of fireworks displays around town, there are lots of fun free things on for kids this weekend.
On Saturday, get up early to take part in the annual Harrods Christmas Parade beginning at 8:00 a.m. The parade proceeds along Basil Street and Hans Crescent before moving inside the store to mark the opening of Santa’s Grotto.

Based on the theme of the Wizard of Oz story, this year’s Harrods Christmas Parade celebrates the hundred and first appearance of Father Christmas at Harrods for the festive period. Taking up his annual residence in the grotto, he will arrive in grand style as part of the spectacular parade which also include popular Wizard of Oz characters Dorothy, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and Scarecrow.
Also free on Saturday and Sunday, the Chisenhale Dance Space is hosting the Homelands Dance Festival with free dance workshops and performances. You can view the full events programme here. According to the site:
