Sainsbury’s has just launched its first ever buy now free next time promotion. The offer is available on two items in-store, Pampers Baby-Dry Nappies Carry Pack in all sizes and Sainsbury’s white crusty baguettes.

When a customer buys these products, they will receive a coupon offering them the free product next time they visit Sainsbury’s. The offer is good through 24th November.

I think this is  genius and Sainsbury’s picked the two products for great reasons. With nappies, buy one get one free offers force shoppers to take more product than they normally would buy which adds up to a lot of bulk to carry.

Baguettes on the other hand aren’t an ideal buy one get one free item because they’d go off before being eaten. This offer means shoppers can have fresh bread when they need it.

The only restriction seems to be that there will be a limit of four packs of nappies or baguettes per customer in a single transaction. So you can’t receive more than four ‘free next time’ coupons in a single transaction even if you buy more than four products.
