I was absolutely THRILLED when Very.co.uk said they’d send me a new hoover to review – the Swan Petmaster. The hoover that came with our flat was just not cutting it and although I’d read some reviews and looked for offers I hadn’t gotten around to actually choosing and ordering a new one. And our floors were suffering!

What I didn’t count on was the excitement DSD would get out of it. Just taking it out of the box was a thrill but the process of testing the hoover’s suction on different things – cereal, rice – provided endless entertainment. The hoover triumphed at every challenge so we finally tried a whole piece of paper. Now, a hoover isn’t really meant to suck up a whole piece of paper. We stared as it tried and tried until finally with a whomp! the paper disappeared and reappeared in the clear plastic main part (what is this called??) DSD was so delighted that she squealed and launched herself at me for a hug.

Now, everyone has to take a turn hoovering or there will surely be a strop. No really – we had a minor strop on Sunday. If I’d only known a new hoover would mean help with the cleaning I’d have invested in one long ago!

Needless to say we’re all very pleased with the hoover. It works so incredibly well on both the carpet and the hardwood floors that it is actually quite embarrassing how much is sucked up!
