Westfield London Shopping Centre has launched a ‘Kids Eat for FREE’ offer as part of its Summer 2011 campaign. I think this is brilliant news – often the most expensive part of the day when we go to Westfield is lunch. Although the voucher doesn’t include our usual stop – Pho – several other great restaurants are taking part, including Benugo, Caffe Concerto, Ciao Baby Cucina, Comptoir Libanis, CrepeAffaire, Fire & Stone, Isola Bella, Jom Makan, Le Pain Quotidien, Mandaloun, Shawa, The Meat & Wine Company and The Real Greek.
The Kids Eat Free vouchers can only be redeemed in Westfield London at the restaurants specified from 23rd July – 4th September 2011. Westfield’s Summer campaign also includes kids’ events, shows and other entertainment activities, most of which are free.
Download your Kids Eat Free voucher here: http://uk.westfield.com/london/.
UPDATE 8.8.11 – We used our voucher on Saturday and it was as easy as pie. At CrepeAffair DSD’s crepe was free – no rules or restrictions from what I could tell.

Quick – run to Pizza Express because you only have FOUR DAYS to get this offer!
Oh wait, there will probably be another offer as soon as this one is over…
Just kidding really, I love that you can always count on Pizza Express for a thrifty family meal out or a cheap date night. That said, Pizza Express, if you’re listening, what we’d really fancy is a free piccolo meal with the purchase of a full-price pizza (or something along those lines). That would be REALLY family-friendly, wouldn’t it?
The latest offer is £10 and includes the following. You’ll need a voucher and you can get one here.
Starters: Garlic Bread or Dough Balls
Main Courses: Margherita, American, American Hot La Reine, Fiorentina, Veneziana, Padana, Melanzane, Lasagna, Pollo salad
Drinks: Pinot Grigio (175ml) or Montepulciano (175ml), Small Peroni (330ml), Soft drink

I’m truly not sure if this will work because I cut and pasted the image from my email, but feel free to try getting 40% off your meal at YO! Sushi Farringdon if you’re in the neighborhood!
Just don’t go too crazy – last time E and I did an offer like this we still spent way too much because we got so grabby at the conveyor belt, sure the total bill would ring in so low!
Voucher is good until 6th June.

To celebrate the launch of the Mexican Sizzler pizza – the winner of last year’s competition to create the official 2010 Britain’s Got Talent pizza – Domino’s are offering 20% off orders over £20 with code NSJCLPGT until 23rd May.
So just what is the Mexican Sizzler? I’m glad you asked. It has NEW Mexican style chicken, green peppers, NEW red peppers, jalepenos and NEW tortilla pieces. (I think the “NEW” means these are never before used toppings!)
Give it a try, or go with one of my favourites: American hot or pepperoni and pineapple. Yum!

Going out to dinner is one of my favourite things. But it can take a seriously massive cut of your budget! So here are a few ideas for saving money on your next date night.
1. Go early. Early in the week and early in the evening restaurants are typically slower and often run specials. At one point we joked that Monday is the new date night because of all of the offers near where E used to live in Fulham. Along the same lines, many restaurants don’t accept vouchers on Fridays and Saturdays. And that leads me to…
2. Look for vouchers. An obvious suggestion, coming from me, but one that is often forgotten. There are a few ways to do this: first, look through the heaps and heaps of restaurant vouchers on sites like VoucherHub.com; second, go directly to a restaurant’s website to find out what promotions they are running; third, sign up for localised group discount sites like Groupola, Groupon and MyCityDeal. Now repeat after me: “Never make a purchase without checking for a voucher”!
3. BYOB. There is the most amazing kebab shop in Notting Hill where I used to live called Fez Mangal. E and I went there way to often because they had just the absolute best chicken shish and lamb beyti. They didn’t serve alcohol and we could pick up a cheap bottle of red from the shop next door and do dinner for under £20, usually with leftovers for lunch.
4. Be loyal. Sign up for a restaurant’s loyalty scheme, facebook fan page and twitter. You’ll always be the first to know about promotions. The Geronimo Club is one of my favourites – I like their pubs and every month they send an email full of lovely offers for discounts on dining and free drinks, plus pub events.
5. Get a card. If you live in London, for a small upfront investment you can get a Taste London or a View card which will give you 50% discounts at restaurants all over town. At the moment, Taste London is £65.95 (but check around for a 20% off voucher!) and a View card will run you £25.95.
6. Read this blog! I write about restaurant deals I’ve tried or heard about from time to time in the Mummy Daddy Date Night posts.
