Two of my go-to shops for workwear have kicked off big sales this week.
At Banana Republic, from today, you can save 25% with code UKSAVE25. How about this classic LBD now that the Autumn weather is blowing in?

And Boden is already tempting us with a Winter Preview and is offering 20% off plus free shipping and returns. The discount code I have is PRV4. Shhhhh…
I’ll forgive them for introducing Winter before we’ve even hit mid-August and virtually the whole country is on Summer hols because isn’t this British Tweed Shift cute?

Debenham’s have announced they are going to sell copies of Pippa’s two wedding dresses – the white one from the ceremony and the green one from the evening party. They’ll retail at £170 so still not all that inexpensive. Comments on the article I read about this in the Telegraph weren’t all that positive about it so I’m curious – who will actually buy these?? I’m not a big fan of replica dresses in general and these seem to be missing the detail that makes Pippa’s real dresses so special.
I was actually in Debenham’s at Westfield yesterday and didn’t see them. Has anyone seen them in person?

Gap is doing another 30% off voucher. The Gap voucher is printable and good for in-store purchases only from today to the 13th.
E and I went to the Gap at the weekend to scout out the new stuff in advance of the sale. He wanted jeans and I wanted a jean skirt. I tried on the mini-skirt but just had to laugh!
I’m thinking of getting these flats. I’m posting a link and picture from the American site because Gap.eu actually doesn’t have shoes on the site. And you know what else they don’t have? A search box. That’s crazy, right? I had a good look around and sure enough no search function! Gap, fix that will you?
Anyway, enough about that and on to the shoes: camel laser cut flats. Nice for spring, right? Where are you spring!

Are you one of the zillions who rushed to the shops on Boxing Day? I wasn’t, but I can understand the urge. Even if you did get everything you asked Santa for for Christmas, there is sort of that niggling feeling that you might miss that one amazing deal if you don’t follow the crowd.
We did head to Westfield today to spend some vouchers DSD was given for Christmas but I didn’t squeeze in any shopping for myself beyond a couple of quick sensible purchases (tights at M&S, vitamins at Boots). I did feel the pull of Karen Millen, Reiss and French Connection but DSD was showing signs of extreme boredom and imminent meltdown when we finally did try to make a dash into Ted Baker so E could look at suits. Fortunately he found a matching jacket and trousers for half price (!) in his size just in time to get DSD an ice cream and keep the peace.
From what I saw today, there are still sales to be had if you are in the mood to fight the crowds and some terrifyingly dishevelled sales racks. Or just look on line. Here are a few sales worth a look:
Boden – Winter sale still on with cuts of up to 50%. A great buy is the Floaty Printed Dress was £85 now £33.
John Lewis – Sales at 30%, 50% and 70% off and you can sort by discount.
House of Fraser – Claims to be the Best Ever Sale with up to 70% off.
Gap – Totally mental in store but full of deep discounts online like this Party Skirt which was £39.50 now £14.99.
Ted Baker – Smart suits for men and pretty dresses for you at up to half price so if you need either of these things it’s a can’t miss.
Obviously this is just the tip of the iceberg! Happy shopping (and Happy New Year!)

The Gap has announced a new 30% off voucher good from 17 – 28 November. You can print it here.
I was in yesterday actually and felt warm and cozy just looking at all the jumpers they have. I kind of want this one, which was on offer for £25. It’s called the Button turtleneck sweater.

An organisation I’m quite fond of, the Junior League of London, is hosting their annual Boutique de Noel fundraiser tomorrow and Thursday. This is a really fun event with shopping, cocktails, music and live and silent auctions for the grown ups, plus a Winter Wonderland and photos with Santa for the kids. There are loads of stalls for shopping in the Christmas market (see snap), with great unique gift ideas in all price ranges for everyone on your list. You can find a list of participating vendors here.
Tickets for Thursday’s shopping day and Jingle Bells Happy Hour are only £5 and kids under 10 years old are free. If you’d like to attend Wednesday evening’s Gala Shopping Evening tickets are £35 and £20 for each additional ticket when purchased in advance. Patron tickets which include a private wine tasting are £100.
The entire event will be held on 10 November 6 – 10 p.m. and 11 November 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. at Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street, London W8 7NX. All tickets can be purchased via JLL’s website.
